home decoratingSince the weather has cooled off, I want to start doing some home decorating. Last weekend my sister and I agreed to help each other with a home decorating project once a month. It is much easier to have a hand when trying to execute some of the home remodeling or decorating projects. The one at the top of my list is preparing a bare floor in the guest room for new flooring. We ripped the carpet out a year ago but haven't done anything else with the room since then. It's actually serving as one big closet, but it would be really nice to have that room livable. We expect a busy winter and we could invite our house guests to stay in that room instead of putting them up in the home office.

All we have to do to get the floor ready is remove some carpet strips and staples and pick out the kind of flooring we want. We like to stay away from carpeting as much as we can because we have two cats and cleaning hard surface floors is so much easier than carpeting. Home decorating with different types of flooring can add a lot to how it looks and feels, so it will be fun to discuss these home decorating ideas with her when she comes over on Saturday.
