You may not realize this, but fountains aren't that expensive and are a great addition to any outdoor décor. In addition to creating a nice ambiance, they also act like a sound buffer. This is especially useful when you live in a condo or townhouse where your neighbor's patio is right next to yours.

You don't have to go all out with outdoor décor to add a fountain either. We have a nice fountain my brother made for my mom this year for Mother's Day. It sits in the corner of our front porch and the only other outdoor décor we have there is a metal patio table, two chairs and matching bench. It's really simple; we don't even have cushions on the bench or chairs. Yet it's a nice, cozy space and the fountain is a nice little added element that is wonderful on hot summer days. What I love about the fountain is when we plug it in on a hot day; it helps cool the area off. Sure we live in an area where we only have summer for three short months out of the year, but it's still nice to have that added feature to our outdoor décor
